Kathy M. Starling has lived in six different states as well as Canada since graduating high school. Kathy decided she wanted to be a criminal defense attorney in the 8th grade and while in law school sought out opportunities which solidified her passion for criminal defense. These experiences included interning for the following offices:
Dallas County Public Defender, Dallas, TX
Colorado Public Defenders Office, La Junta, CO
Office of the Georgia Capital Defender, Atlanta, GA
DeKalb County Juvenile Public Defender, Atlanta, GA
After law school Kathy worked for Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas and then the Christiansen Law Firm. She decided to start working for herself in 2020 in order to focus on her passion, which is defending those that stand accused and helping them obtain the best possible results for their circumstances.
Kathy particularly enjoys being in front of a jury, talking to the jury, and being in trial. Not many attorneys have or had the trial experience that Kathy does at her age.
Kathy is a true believer that in most situations incarceration, probation, and convictions do not deter the person that has been convicted nor does it protect society. Kathy's unique approach fights against the normal mindset of the system.
